"Pro bono is hands down the best professional development that associates at any level are going to get at a law firm, because those matters really give them [the] opportunity to take the lead," Lisa said. "They're having the first meeting with the client. They're helping the client refine what their goals are for the representation. They're coming up with the strategy. They're communicating that to the client, and that is not something that associates otherwise get at an early level in their career."
