Ballard Spahr's Masa Yamaguchi, Diego Gutiérrez Recognized for Pro Bono Work by Lewis & Clark Law School

Ballard Spahr Partner Masa Yamaguchi and Associate Diego A. Gutiérrez, both members of the firm’s national Business and Transactions Department, have been recognized by the Lewis & Clark Law School Center for Business Law and Leadership for their pro bono contributions to the school’s legal clinics.
Masa, who is co-leader of the firm’s Japan Practice Group, will receive the Small Business Legal Clinic’s (SBLC) Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award. At the SBLC, Masa advises Oregon-based small business owners and entrepreneurs on corporate and contract matters.
Diego will receive the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic’s (LITC) Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award. Diego works pro bono with other attorneys at the LITC to advise clients, particularly Spanish speaking immigrant taxpayers, on tax-related matters such as Individual Taxpayer Identification Number approval, payment plans, and correcting past filing issues.
Both attorneys will be recognized at Lewis & Clark Law School’s Distinguished Business Law Graduate Reception on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. For further information about the ceremony and registration, visit Lewis & Clark’s website.
