Baltimore's Historic Crown Industrial Park Campus Begins New Chapter With Support From Ballard Spahr

A historic 30-acre site in Baltimore’s Greektown neighborhood is ready for the next chapter in its storied history, thanks in part to Ballard Spahr.
The Crown Industrial Park campus—which comprises more than 20 buildings over 1 million square feet—began its life in 1906 as the headquarters for Crown Cork and Seal, the company that popularized the modern bottlecap. Following its $16 million acquisition by Cross Street Partners and SHIFT Capital, it is now poised for a phased redevelopment that will build on the diversity and strengths of its existing community, which includes over 135 artists, makers, and light industrial tenants. The redevelopment will include exploring the feasibility of rehabilitating the nearly 700,000 square feet of vacant buildings on the site to expand opportunities for existing tenants while introducing new mixed-use elements that align with the campus’ diverse community and that of the surrounding neighborhoods.
Baltimore Real Estate Partner Alyssa Domzal and Associate Aaron M. Clemmer led the Ballard Spahr team that counseled Cross Street Partners and SHIFT Capital in the acquisition.
