'Carving Out Space': How IP Lawyers Of Color Say They're Attracting Diverse New Talent

The issue of diversity in law may be especially pronounced within intellectual property. Shaton C. Menzie, an Atlanta-based member of Ballard Spahr's Intellectual Property Department, spoke with Daily Report about the work she and other IP attorneys of color are doing to further diversity and inclusion.
“The big thing that I’m doing right now as a part of my practice is I’m intentionally carving out space to lecture about IP,” Ms. Menzie said. “I’ve devoted probably 20 percent of my time to doing just that.”
