Transactional Health Care Attorney Eric Knickrehm Joins Ballard Spahr

Eric J. Knickrehm, a health care lawyer who focuses on transactional, regulatory, and health policy matters, has joined Ballard Spahr in the firm’s office in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Knickrehm advises a range of health care industry clients—such as private equity funds, physician practice groups, and managed care plans—in mergers, acquisitions, and investments across the country. He also counsels health care trade associations, pharmacies, and hospitals on a wide variety of regulatory compliance matters. Mr. Knickrehm’s active regulatory practice focuses on Medicare and Medicaid compliance, federal and state fraud and abuse laws, and telehealth.

After law school, Mr. Knickrehm spent time in the health care practice of a major D.C. government relations firm, where he helped clients develop legislative strategies advocating for their objectives on Capitol Hill. He also worked in the Office of Legislation at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. During his tenure, Mr. Knickrehm assisted in the development and implementation of a variety of notable health care laws, such as Medicare Access and the CHIP Reauthorization Act and the 21st Century Cures Act.
