Ballard Spahr Named Pennsylvania’s ‘Best Real Estate Law Firm’ by The Legal Intelligencer

August 26, 2020

The Legal Intelligencer has named Ballard Spahr “Best Real Estate Law Firm” in Pennsylvania in the publication’s Best of 2020 rankings of law firms and legal service providers in the Commonwealth.

The Best of 2020 identifies the top law firms and legal products and service providers, based on a survey of The Legal readers across Pennsylvania.

With nearly 130 attorneys nationwide, Ballard Spahr’s Real Estate Department is one of the nation’s largest and most active. The firm’s Pennsylvania attorneys have worked on many of the most significant projects across the state, including Citizen’s Bank Park and both of Comcast’s skyscrapers in Philadelphia. The Legal’s editorial staff had named the firm’s Real Estate Department as the best real estate law practice in Pennsylvania in its two previous reviews of real estate practices across the state.

With offices in key metro areas nationwide, the Department’s attorneys advise clients—including developers, investors, lenders, and major corporations—on all types of real estate transactions, such as ground-up development and permitting of multifamily buildings, repurposing of shopping centers, sales of warehouse portfolios, expansion of university innovation centers, hotel workouts, structuring of complex, mixed-use facilities, and building out affordable housing projects across the country.

As the coronavirus pandemic rattles the economy, Ballard Spahr’s real estate lawyers are helping landlords, tenants, borrowers, and lenders handle unprecedented challenges and seize opportunities. Resources such as the Distressed Real Estate team and the Real Estate/Housing/Landlord Issues portion of the firm’s COVID-19 Resource Center are specifically designed to help address the range of issues arising during this historic period.
