Ballard Spahr Launches COVID-19 Stimulus Enforcement Tracker

July 20, 2020

Ballard Spahr has launched the Stimulus Enforcement Tracker, which monitors CARES Act and COVID-19-related enforcement actions across the country, as well as policy alerts and updates from federal agencies.

The tracker reports on a variety of alleged violations of federal law, including securities fraud, Paycheck Protection Program loan fraud, bank fraud, and health care fraud, among others. The tracker is updated daily with information on new government agency filings related to the current pandemic.

The user-friendly, interactive tool allows for tracking enforcement actions and policy statements geographically and by agency. It offers information on the action, which includes the type of litigation, the date and location of filing, the defendant’s name, the laws allegedly violated, and a short summary of the case. Of the more than 100 actions tracked so far, the majority have been brought by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The tracker is offered as part of the firm’s Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Resource Center, an online hub that offers information and guidance on how to address the legal questions posed by the worldwide spread of the virus. The Resource Center also offers two online legislative tracking tools—one for state legislation and one for federal—to help clients track breaking developments during the coronavirus pandemic.
