We recently produced webinars titled “CFPB Developments: Everything You Want to Know About the CFPB as Things Stand Today” and “What is Happening at the Federal Agencies (Other Than the CFPB) That is Relevant to the Consumer Financial Services Industry?” Our panels touched upon the post-inauguration impact on the CFPB and other federal agencies that regulate, supervise and enforce federal laws against banks and non-banks pertaining to consumer financial services.

During this webinar, we will address what you need to know about developments at the CFPB and other federal agencies (collectively, the “Agencies”) the White House (through the issuance of Executive Orders) and Congress of relevance to the residential mortgage and settlement service industries. Some of the issues we will discuss:

  • What is the status of proposed or final regulations of the Agencies (e.g., 1071 small business loan data collection and reporting rule, non-bank enforcement order registry rule, PACE rule and proposed mortgage servicing rules amendments)?
  • What are the changes regarding the eligibility of non-permanent residents for mortgage loans?
  • What is the status of enforcement investigations and litigation of the Agencies?
  • What is the impact of President Trump’s executive order requiring the Agencies to obtain approval from the White House of all proposed and final regulations?
  • What will be the effect of the rescission of the October 2023 Community Reinvestment Act rule?
  • Will there continue to be fair lending enforcement at any of the Agencies (including the effects of the Executive Order on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the termination of grants to organizations that enforce the Fair Housing Act, and Mortgagee Letter 2025-08 which rescinds various appraisal review and reconsideration of value policies in connection with FHA loans)
  • What are the strategic priorities of the Agencies?

You will also have the opportunity to submit your questions to us when you register.
