Join HIAS Pennsylvania and Ballard Spahr on June 23, 2022 as they host a presentation by a Supervisory Asylum Officer from the Newark Asylum Office of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The Asylum Officer will offer advice on how to present an effective affirmative application for asylum and how attorneys can best prepare their clients for their asylum interviews. The Officer will also share insights and answer questions specifically related to preparing asylum applications for Afghan asylum seekers. This program will provide 1 hour of substantive CLE credit.

Attorneys who are interested in representing an asylum seeker and who have not participated in HIAS PA's substantive training on asylum law are encouraged to watch HIAS PA's Introduction to Substantive Asylum Law Training Video and then to reach out to Jessica Daly, HIAS PA's pro bono coordinator, at jdaly@hiaspa.org for more information about being paired with a client in need of representation.

This program is approved for 1.0 CLE Credits in CA, NJ, NY, & PA. DE CLE is pending. Uniform Certificates of Attendance will be provided for the purpose of seeking credit in other jurisdictions.

Please register at least two days before the webinar. Login details will be sent to all approved registrants. For more information, contact Lisa Whiteley (whiteleyl@ballardspahr.com) and Jessica Daly (jdaly@hiaspa.org).
