Will Trump's Demand for TV Broadcast of Election Trial Sway the Court?

For her On the Case column about former President Donald Trump's demand that his upcoming federal trial on election subversion charges be televised, Reuters' Alison Frankel talked to Chad R. Bowman, a member of the Ballard Spahr team that represents the media coalition petitioning to broadcast the trial.

Mr. Bowman noted that Mr. Trump's claim that he cannot receive a fair trial without live coverage is a subversion of the usual argument that criminal trials should not be televised because that would compromise the defendant's due process rights - and thus bolsters the argument for allowing recording during criminal proceeds.
