M&A Falls Back Down to Earth, Faces New Challenges in 2023

For a look ahead at what the M&A sector may be like in 2023, Law360 spoke to Jeffrey A. Fickes, Practice Co-Leader of Ballard Spahr's Private Equity Group.

"We are still seeing strong deal counts amongst strategic and financial buyers in the business service, health care and disruptive tech sectors," he said. "But deal count has been down in other sectors such as the discretionary consumer and building products sectors. Maybe not surprisingly given it's the backbone of our economy, we continue to see our fair share of deals in the industrials sector."
