Ballard Spahr’s David Bodney Among Arizona Capitol Times’ 2020 Leaders of the Year

Ballard Spahr Senior Counsel David Bodney has been named one of the Arizona Capitol Times' 2020 Leaders of the Year for his contributions to the law.

For more than 40 years, Mr. Bodney has represented print, broadcast, and electronic media in defamation, privacy, and related First Amendment litigation. Over the years, he has contributed to efforts at the legislature and the judiciary to secure the enactment of laws and court rules that advance open government and protect the public’s right to know.

"David Bodney is not only a leader in safeguarding the free press in Arizona, he is one of the country’s strongest defenders of the First Amendment in our courts," said Charles D. Tobin, who leads Ballard Spahr's nationally recognized Media and Entertainment Law Group. "His lifetime of contributions continues to benefit every American." 

Each year, the Arizona Capitol Times Leaders of the Year recognizes men, women, and organizations that have improved the quality of life of Arizonans. Mr. Bodney is one of three attorneys on the list, which can be accessed in full here.
