Kiira is an attorney in the firm's Litigation Department, focusing on consumer financial services litigation. Kiira regularly defends clients in the automotive, consumer products and financial industries in individual lawsuits involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, as well as related state law claims. She participates in all aspects of litigation including arbitration preparation, drafting pleadings, discovery and motions, including motions to compel, motions to enforce, and motions for summary judgment. She has experience drafting response briefs, drafting wills and trusts, preparing simple and complex tax returns, assisting with litigation pleadings indices and closing books, and reviewing discovery content.
Prior to Ballard Spahr, Kiira worked at an Estate Planning firm where she primarily worked on trust funding matters and guardianship proceedings. She also helped prepare a brief for a successful trust litigation case that went to the South Dakota Supreme Court. As an intern at a Litigation firm, Kiira assisted with a major medical malpractice case.
