Juliana van Hoeven is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Group. Juliana represents both public and private employers in employment litigation involving claims under federal and state law. She has experience litigating matters involving wage and hour disputes, employment discrimination, restrictive covenants and breach of contract claims. She has also counseled clients on a wide range of matters, including workplace investigations, executive compensation issues and the development of workplace policies and agreements.
Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Juliana worked in the Delaware office of a major international law firm, where she focused on merger and acquisition-related litigation involving stockholder derivative lawsuits. Before law school, Juliana worked as a legal assistant at the Defender Association of Philadelphia.

Juliana maintains an active pro bono practice, assisting clients in a variety of ways ranging from revising employee handbooks and social media policies to advising on trusts and estates matters.
