John D. Sadler focuses on complex commercial litigation matters. In his diverse litigation practice, John represents banks, financial institutions, lenders, contractors, homebuilders, real estate developers, commercial landlords, property management companies, insurance companies, and individuals in both federal and state court matters involving real estate disputes, corporate disputes, mechanics' liens, breaches of contract, construction, and leasing disputes.

John represents commercial lenders in litigation, default servicing, debt recovery, lien perfection, judgment enforcement, and lender liability defense matters. He assists lenders in planning, negotiating, and documenting commercial debt restructurings involving notes, guaranties, revolving credit agreements, term loan agreements, acquisition, and construction loans secured by real estate; secured lending under Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code; intercreditor agreements; subordination agreements; participation agreements; control agreements; and letter of credit agreements.

John represents creditors and financially distressed entities in all phases of the workout and restructuring process. He conducts real estate foreclosure sales on behalf of his clients and litigates quiet title, injunction, and other pre-foreclosure and post-foreclosure sale matters. John also enforces his client’s security interests in personal property through public and private foreclosure sales under the Uniform Commercial Code. He represents creditors and debtors in all aspects of Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases, including relief from the automatic stay, plan confirmation, enforcement of rights to cash collateral and adequate protection, prepetition claim allowance, enforcement and collection of administrative and post-petition claims, prosecution and defense of preference and other avoidance claims, prosecution and defense of dischargeability complaints, and sales under 11 U.S.C. § 363.

John represents financial institutions in litigation arising from residential mortgage lending and retail banking. He regularly assists clients in defending claims brought under state consumer protection laws and federal lending statutes, including the Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act, and Equal Credit Opportunity Act. John defends clients against individuals and class action consumer matters.
