Shawn F. Summers is an associate in the Litigation Department. As a Ballard Spahr summer associate, Shawn researched, wrote, and presented a memorandum on a claim preclusion defense for a major client in ten-figure litigation. He returned to the firm as an associate in time to help prepare for trial in that same case. As a summer associate, Shawn also researched, wrote, and presented a memorandum on an unsettled area of arbitration law, and his findings served as the basis of a practice-wide email advising clients. He also helped update a First Amendment legal handbook for reporters.
Before law school, Shawn worked as a software quality analyst, advising clients in the insurance, banking, and retail industries.
