Michael Pollack has practiced real estate and corporate law in the greater New York metropolitan area for more than 30 years. Mr. Pollack advises clients on the purchase, sale, and financing of major commercial properties; lease transactions; construction contracts; real estate development projects; and litigation management.

Michael is known for representing some of the most prominent investors in central business district properties, ranging from institutional real estate investors and pension funds to Fortune 100 companies and multigenerational real estate families. His experience covers a wide range of asset classes, including office buildings, retail properties, multifamily properties, hotels, and development projects.

Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Michael was Senior Vice President and General Counsel at The Ashforth Company, a private real estate company with a geographically diverse real estate portfolio and wholly owned real estate management and construction companies. As General Counsel, he was responsible for all transactional matters affecting the company’s portfolio, including its investments in various real estate assets and funds; its financings, joint ventures, dispositions, and sponsored funds; and its portfolio-wide leasing program (including major leases with publicly traded companies, hedge funds, media companies, and prominent professional service firms). Michael also served as the company’s Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer and supervised its insured and uninsured litigation.
