Aileen Ng researches, interprets, and applies federal and state laws relating to consumer financial services and mortgage banking. She advises non-depository and depository institutions on laws regulating disclosures and agreements, including the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Housing Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), E-Sign Act (Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act), and the financial privacy requirements in Title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Aileen also prepares multi-state regulatory surveys and analyses relating to mortgage lending, brokering, and servicing.

During law school, Aileen served several internships with the D.C. Superior Court where she worked on family law and domestic violence projects.

Representative Matters

  • Counseled clients on the regulatory and licensing obligations for engaging in various activities, including, mortgage lending, brokering, and servicing, commercial mortgage lending and servicing, debt adjustments and foreclosure consulting, debt collections, and solicitation and referral activities in connection with consumer loans and consumer installment contracts
  • Advised clients on compliance with recent regulatory guidance and changes due to the COVID-19 national emergency relating to debt collection and student loan servicing
  • Obtained required state licenses for real estate broker, money lender, and student loan servicer clients
