Rene McNulty is an associate in Ballard Spahr’s Consumer Financial Services Group and regularly assists banks and financial institutions on a wide variety of litigation, regulatory, transactional, and enforcement matters involving consumer finance laws. Rene litigates complex commercial and consumer finance disputes in federal and state courts. He advises clients on federal and state consumer finance laws, including laws governing fair lending, credit reporting, payments, debt collection, military lending, mortgage lending, and unfair, deceptive, and abusive acts and practices. Rene assists banks and financial institutions to prepare for and navigate examinations and investigations by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He also drafts and reviews financial documents, such as mortgages, security agreements, loan agreements, promissory notes, guarantees, and releases.
Prior to his legal career, Rene was a leader and administrative professional, serving four years in the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, Rene served as a volunteer Sexual Assault Victims Advocate and Junior Sailor Mentor.
