William Lasker is a skilled litigator with a proven track record of delivering strategic solutions and successful outcomes for clients. Will also counsels clients on arbitration strategy, including compelling arbitration, and appears before arbitrators in JAMS and AAA.

Will has unique experience in First Amendment jurisprudence, including state anti-SLAPP laws and the Noerr-Pennington doctrine, which insulate a party from liability for exercising their right to protected speech.

Representative Matters

Successfully defended the chief executive officer of international professional organization against claims for breach of fiduciary duty. The claims were ultimately dropped after an extensive internal investigation absolved our client of alleged misconduct.
Served as a member of the legal team representing Twitter in successfully enforcing the acquisition of the company. In this capacity, played a key role in managing third-party discovery, overseeing extensive document review projects.
Obtained favorable settlement for developer in $2.5 billion dispute involving a private ski resort. Prior to settling the case, we succeeded on summary judgment to defeat claims for violations of Utah anti-SLAPP laws and abuse of process.

Currently serves as outside general counsel to largest parking operator in New York City. Our team provides strategic direction on litigation matters to support the Company’s goals and objectives. Additionally, we oversee and manage a robust docket of insurance and personal injury matters.
Represent financial institution against alleged violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Truth in Lending Act in federal courts nationwide, including the District of Utah, Northern District of Georgia, District of Colorado, Northern District of Texas, and Eastern District of New York.
Successfully defended a global communications corporation in the E.D.N.Y. against alleged violations of the Securities Act related to a proposed merger. Following our team’s response to shareholder books and records demands, the merger proceeded as planned.
Prevailed on summary judgment in a multimillion-dollar breach of commercial lease claim for international retail developer. The court also awarded our client all fees and costs incurred in prosecuting the claims.
Currently representing an energy company in an action for breach of contract and violations of the trade secrets act.
Currently defending a global agriscience corporation against product liability, toxic tort, and fraud claims in state court. Notably, this case involves intricate discovery practice because it involves 58 parties. Our team has implemented a strategic approach to coordinate, manage, and streamline the complexities of discovery amidst such a large number of parties.
Conduct internal investigation for securities institution in response to SEC and CFTC books and records demands.
Lead arbitrations in JAMS and AAA for an international hospitality corporation, defending against consumer claims for breach of contract, misrepresentation, and fraud.
Prevailed on a motion to dismiss for a financial institution in a quiet title and breach of contract action. Orvin v. Nat’l City Mortg., 669 F. Supp. 3d 1160 (D. Utah 2023).
