G'Nece Jones advises plan sponsors on various benefit plan issues related to plan design, administration, maintenance of tax-qualified status, tax reporting, and operational compliance matters. She provides regulatory compliance advice on Code sections 403(b), 457, 401(k), and 409A as they relate to retirement plans and deferred compensation plans. G’Nece assists clients in conducting due diligence efforts and drafting contracts with insurers, annuity providers, HIPAA-related business associates, and other vendors. She also drafts plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other communications to ensure that plans efficiently discharge their fiduciary duties related to plan disclosure and reporting. G’Nece advises clients on compliance with ERISA, the Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, HITECH, COBRA, cafeteria plan rules, and other legal requirements governing health and welfare plans. During the COVID-19 outbreak, G’Nece is helping employers address various employee benefit issues arising from the FFCRA, CARES Act, and changes in their workforce.
Prior to joining the firm, G'Nece worked as a Benefits Advisor for the U.S. Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration where she analyzed documents governing employee benefit plans to ensure compliance with ERISA, the Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, COBRA, and various other federal laws.
While in law school, G'Nece successfully represented claimants in administrative hearings before the Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation Board of Review and the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review.
