Kyle is a registered patent attorney and an associate in Ballard Spahr's Intellectual Property Department. He focuses on patent litigation and trade secret misappropriation.

Kyle represents clients in federal courts across the country in both the defense and assertion of patent rights involving payment systems, website building tools, mechanical devices, and other business methods and software. Additionally, Kyle represents clients before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Kyle is well-versed in all aspects of intellectual property litigation, ranging from pre-filing case assessment through jury trials. Kyle has successfully argued Markman hearings and was part of a jury trial team that successfully defended against infringement claims that included a damages claim in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Kyle also has successfully represented clients in appellate proceedings before the Federal Circuit, including being part of a team that obtained a vacatur of a lower court’s non-infringement ruling at summary judgment.

In addition to Kyle’s intellectual property litigation experience, Kyle routinely is called upon to assess clients’ intellectual property as they pertain to mergers and acquisitions. Kyle also has experience with intellectual property procurement before the Trademark Office.
