Stephanie Awanyai is an associate in the Litigation Department. Her experience includes handling general commercial litigation disputes, including assisting clients in employment and regulatory compliance matters. She represents financial institutions on disputes involving mortgage lending, debt collection practices, insurance, and failure of customer account controls. Stephanie also has worked with large retail shopping centers in eviction matters, as well as a solar manufacturing and installation company in false advertising claims.

Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Stephanie clerked for the Hon. Benita Y. Pearson for the Northern District of Ohio, conducting legal research, preparing summaries, and drafting opinions and orders on a wide variety of civil and criminal litigation matters.

Pro Bono Experience

Stephanie is committed to pro bono work and advancing both the goals of profit and nonprofit health-focused organizations. She provided legal services to an international nonprofit organization—committed to the improvement of children's overall health and well-being—by developing their executive employment agreements, as well as drafting contracts related to the staging of their charity events.
