IP Attorney Benjamin Charkow Joins Ballard Spahr in New York
Benjamin Charkow is an experienced intellectual property attorney whose practice ranges from securing trademarks and copyrights, clearing and prosecuting patents, and negotiating product licenses to enforcing intellectual property rights though litigation. He has joined Ballard Spahr’s Intellectual Property Department and will be based in the firm’s New York office.
“Ben’s engineering training, combined with his wide-ranging skill across IP law, allows him to communicate technical details to non-specialists and relate the business aspects of IP assets,” said Lynn E. Rzonca, chair of the Intellectual Property Department at Ballard Spahr. “He’s a terrific addition to the team.”
Before attending law school, Mr. Charkow worked as an environmental engineer at Malcolm Pirnie, Inc., where he was involved in the design and start-up of new equipment to upgrade New York City’s wastewater treatment plants.
“Ballard has national scope, a multipractice platform, clients across industry sectors, and a national reputation in IP law,” Mr. Charkow said. “I look forward to joining the team.”
