Ballard Spahr Names Judy Mok as Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow
Judy Mok, a Ballard Spahr lawyer who focuses on complex payments transactions, will participate in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) as part of its 2020 class of Fellows. The program aims to identify, train, and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.
Ms. Mok, based in the firm’s New York office, has extensive experience negotiating payments transactions for some of the world's largest retailers and financial institutions. She has advised on an array of complex commercial agreements and strategic partnership agreements for various participants in the payments ecosystem, including financial technology companies.
The Fellows Program includes relationship-building, in-person training, peer group projects, and extensive contact with LCLD's top leadership and the best teachers in the business, including the managing partners and general counsel who host the Fellows for Learning Experiences and Leadership Lunches.
Ms. Mok has a long history of promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. She has served as a mentor to many diverse junior attorneys and has taken on leadership roles in various diversity and inclusion initiatives over the course of her career, including her current role as Group Leader of the Asian American Business Resource Group at Ballard Spahr.
Ms. Mok serves as Co-Vice President of Strategic Development & Marketing for the Don H. Liu Scholars Program, which works to increase scholarship and mentorship opportunities for the next generation of Asian attorneys. She also is an active participant in the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, the Asian American Bar Association of New York, and the Minority Corporate Counsel Association.
