For the last decade, implementation of advances in oil and gas exploration have unlocked vast reserves of oil and gas in the United States, and around the world. Techniques such as horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing have resulted in some measure of energy independence, national security, and economic wealth. Opponents of these practices claim dire environmental consequences will be the result.

In this presentation, Mr. Weiss will explore the fact, fiction, and policy behind the shale oil and gas boom.
