Lawyers and clients alike are faced every day with many legal, ethical, and practical issues regarding social media. In this program, sponsored by the Products Liability and Toxic Torts Section of the NJSBA, Ballard Spahr trial lawyer John B. Kearney will discuss:

  • What social media is and how it can play an important role in litigation 
  • The content discovery of social media sites for use in litigation and varying approaches by courts 
  • How social media is used for obtaining information about potential jurors 
  • How jurors use social media during trial and the courts’ efforts to prohibit it 
  • The ethical and practical issues raised by the availability of social media

Mr. Kearney is a Past Section Chair of the Products Liability and Toxic Torts Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
