Raymond G. Truitt

When the lease was signed, all was well and the landlord and tenant seemed like best friends. Now, they are mortal enemies: the landlord says the tenant is in default and the tenant claims the landlord has not lived up to its promises.

Mr. Truitt, one of two experienced retail lease attorneys presenting, will cover general eviction remedies and lead an interactive session.

This program will:

  • Explore the options between the parties to "work it out" or "duke it out"
  • Address solutions outside of litigation in those areas of dispute (monetary and non-monetary) that are the most common in retail leases and discuss the rights of each party and offer reasonable resolutions
  • Identify when it is right to work out terminations and/or options to terminate, assignments, or lease workouts
  • Address alternative dispute resolution systems such as mediation and arbitration, as well as lease drafting
