Richard N. Hudock—a corporate attorney with more than 20 years’ experience in transactional and commercial law matters—has joined Ballard Spahr in its Philadelphia office, firm Chair Mark Stewart announced today.

Mr. Hudock has represented leading life sciences and technology companies in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity, debt financing, commercial agreements, and intellectual property licensing matters. He has extensive experience serving as in-house counsel having held positions at a global specialty chemicals company, a software provider acquired by IBM, and a public holding company that provides growth capital to emerging technology, life science, and health care companies. Through his in-house experience, Mr. Hudock has developed an insider’s understanding of his clients’ legal and business needs.

“We’ve been focused on growing our corporate practice, especially in the life sciences industry, and Rich is an outstanding addition to the team,” said Peter V. Michaud, Chair of the Ballard Spahr’s Business and Transactions Department. “His longtime and diverse background representing tech and life sciences companies make him an essential asset for the firm’s clients.”

In addition to life sciences and technology, Mr. Hudock has represented clients in the energy, financial services, global manufacturing, and specialty chemicals industries.

“I couldn’t be happier to be joining Ballard Spahr,” Mr. Hudock said. “The firm and its growing corporate practice have a longstanding reputation for providing insightful, efficient, and results-driven counsel to clients across a range of industries. I’m looking forward to being a part of the team.”
