January 13, 2020

Jessica Mickelsen Simon—an attorney with 15 of years of experience working with clients on litigation and bankruptcy matters—has joined Ballard Spahr in the firm’s Los Angeles office, the firm announced today.

Ms. Simon represents secured and unsecured creditors in commercial litigation and insolvency matters, primarily involving distressed debt, and creditors’ rights. She also has experience advising lenders, asset managers, and landlords on bankruptcy risk in mortgages, executory contracts, leases, fraudulent conveyances, preference actions, and non-dischargeability actions.

“Jessica’s experience gives her versatility and uncommon depth,” said Vincent J. She will be a fantastic addition to our team.”

The firm has recruited—and actively continues to recruit—top-notch litigators and prominent figures in emerging markets, as well as attorneys from leading boutique firms.

“I’m pleased to be joining Ballard Spahr in Los Angeles,” Ms. Simon said. “The firm is well-regarded for its bankruptcy work, and I believe my practice will fit in nicely with the matters current L.A. attorneys are handling. I think that our collective experience will complement each other well, and together, we will offer clients a greater depth and wider variety of services.”
