Nicole R. Hittner—a Ballard Spahr partner who advises private equity firms and other businesses on mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures—has been named to the 2019 Top Women in Finance list by Finance & Commerce.

The honor recognizes women who are making an impact in their professions and within their communities. Honorees were chosen based on their leadership, community service, professional accomplishments, and dedication to their professions. An outside panel helped Finance & Commerce select those named to the list.

Ms. Hittner, a partner in the firm's Business and Transactions Department, counsels private equity firms and other businesses on investment transactions, negotiating strategies, and day-to-day operations. She assists buyers and sellers in a range of industries, including manufacturing, food, health care, and hospitality.

Ms. Hittner is Co-Chair of Ballard Women, which focuses on the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women at the firm. She is actively involved in Women in Private Equity and Minnesota Women Lawyers, serves on the planning committee for the Association for Corporate Growth Capital Connection, and is a former board member of Women of Nations.

Attorneys in Ballard Spahr's Private Equity Group represent financial sponsors, portfolio companies of private equity funds, investors, and hedge funds and other pooled investment vehicles on transactions, compliance, and operational issues. The firm also maintains a robust mezzanine lending practice, regularly representing banks, subordinated debt funds, and other investors.

Ms. Hittner will be recognized at the 2019 Top Women in Finance ceremony on November 21. See the full list of recipients here.
