Travis J. Leach, a partner in Ballard Spahr’s Business and Finance Department, has been named to Phoenix Business Journal’s "40 Under 40 list," which recognizes those who demonstrate outstanding leadership in their profession and exceptional community involvement.

This year’s group of 40 honorees will be profiled in the publication’s awards supplement on October 7 and recognized at a ceremony on October 10 at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.

"I am humbled to have been selected by the Phoenix Business Journal for this distinction, and honored to be joining such an elite group of young professionals," said Mr. Leach.

Mr. Leach focuses on corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on public offerings, private placements, corporate governance matters, SEC compliance, and mergers and acquisitions. He represents public and private companies in significant transactions ranging from public offerings to venture capital and private equity deals.

"Travis is a fantastic attorney who brings skill, insight, and an absolute dedication to service to his clients," said Brian M. Pinheiro, chair of Ballard Spahr's Business and Finance Department. "He is an asset to the firm and to his clients. We’re delighted to see him recognized in this way."

Mr. Leach is co-leader of the firm’s Emerging Growth and Private Capital Group and has played a key role in Project SING, a project that helps companies in their growth phase to get started and thrive. He spearheaded a sponsorship with CO+HOOTS in Phoenix through which Ballard Spahr attorneys meet with members—primarily young entrepreneurs—at no cost to discuss business ideas and challenges. He also co-leads the firm's Sports practice and is active in several professional and community organizations.

"Travis’ passion for the practice of law, and the energy and commitment he brings to deal-making and helping his clients grow their businesses is impressive," said John G. Kerkorian, managing partner of the firm’s Phoenix office. "We have a dynamic group of talented young attorneys in our office, and I’m proud that Travis is being recognized as one of our city’s leading young professionals."
