Real estate attorney Joanne Phillips, a partner with in Philadelphia, will serve as 2015 Chair of the Delaware Valley Chapter of The Counselors of Real Estate (CRE), as recently announced by the national organization of real estate advisers.

The Delaware Valley Chapter encompasses the Greater Philadelphia region; Wilmington, Delaware; and surrounding areas. As Chair, Ms. Phillips will lead the chapter, which carries out CRE’s national mission in the Delaware Valley as a resource for information and opportunities for professional development, knowledge sharing and networking, grounded in a culture of camaraderie. The organization produces educational programs, events, and publications for its members and the real estate community at large.

Ms. Phillips has previously served in a leadership capacity for the Delaware Valley Chapter, including as Vice Chair in 2014. CRE also recently announced other chapter officers for 2015: Vice Chair Richard P. Voith, President of Econsult Solutions, Inc.; Treasurer Terri S. Johnson, Managing Partner, Bedford Cost Segregation, LLC; and Membership Officer Karen I. Zinn, Principal of KZB Advisors.

Based in Chicago, The Counselors of Real Estate is an international group of high-profile professionals, including members of prominent real estate, financial, legal, and accounting firms, as well as leaders of government and academia, who provide expert, objective advice on complex real property situations and land-related matters. Membership is selective, extended by invitation only. The organization’s CRE® (Counselor of Real Estate) credential is awarded to all members in recognition of superior problem-solving ability in various areas of real estate counseling.

Ms. Phillips’ practice focuses on a variety of real estate matters, including zoning and land use, development, acquisitions, sales, leasing, eminent domain, easements, rights-of-way, and financing. She has years of experience representing developers, institutions, and other parties in transactions and regulatory approvals. Additionally, Ms. Phillips formerly served as Director of the Bureau of Real Estate within Pennsylvania state government, where she was responsible for an expansive portfolio of properties owned or leased by the Commonwealth. She is also Past Chair of the Real Property Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
