Todd A. Reece, who advises clients on mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions, has rejoined Ballard Spahr as a partner in the firm’s Salt Lake City office, firm Chair Mark Stewart announced today.

Mr. Reece assists clients with general business matters, mergers, acquisitions, financings (including venture and private equity), securities, joint ventures, licensing matters, internal investigations, and compliance matters.

"It's gratifying to have an attorney of Todd's caliber return to the firm," Mr. Stewart said. "We and our clients think highly of Todd and welcome the skills he brings to our transactional practice, particularly in the West."

Mr. Reece’s arrival will enhance Ballard Spahr’s business and finance capabilities in Utah and throughout the West. The firm’s Salt Lake City office, opened in 1987, is home to nearly 40 lawyers serving clients nationwide in business and finance, public finance, litigation, labor and employment, and real estate.

Mr. Reece’s clients include manufacturing companies, professional services companies, life sciences companies, and technology companies, among others. He will be a member of Ballard Spahr’s Business and Finance Department and the Mergers and Acquisitions/Private Equity, Transactional Finance, and Life Sciences and Technology Groups.

Ballard Spahr’s Mergers & Acquisitions/Private Equity Practice Group has nearly 70 attorneys in 14 cities who represent buyers and sellers ranging from small, privately held companies to multinational public companies in transactions that span small and middle markets to multibillion-dollar mergers.

Mr. Reece was with Ballard Spahr for six years before taking a position as partner at a local law firm in Salt Lake City.
