Alan S. Kaplinsky, who leads Ballard Spahr’s nationally recognized Consumer Financial Services Group, has been appointed to the Bloomberg BNA Banking Report Advisory Board. As a member of the board, Mr. Kaplinsky will help determine areas of focus for The Banking Report and Banking Daily. He also will provide guidance as Bloomberg BNA addresses emerging banking law market information needs, including its plans to launch an online Banking Resource Center this spring.

Mr. Kaplinsky is a national thought leader on issues involving consumer financial services, particularly those involving the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He is one of 12 banking law authorities appointed to the Advisory Board.

Mr. Kaplinsky speaks nationally on issues involving consumer financial services and is a pioneer in the area of pre-dispute arbitration in consumer contracts. He advises financial institutions on bank regulatory and transactional matters and defends them in individual and class action lawsuits and government actions. He is also the founder and regular contributor to Ballard Spahr's noted blog, CFPB Monitor, which focuses on developments involving the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
