The Small Business Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Business Law Section, chaired by Ballard Spahr Business and Finance partner Katayun I. Jaffari, is being honored with the Section’s 2013 Committee of the Year award. The award will be presented at the Section’s annual reception on January 21.

The Small Business Committee is being recognized for the professional development activities it has organized and the networking opportunities it has provided for its members over the past year. The Committee assists business lawyers in Philadelphia and surrounding counties by offering continuing legal education courses, a platform for lawyers to discuss legal issues of interest to their small business clients, and networking events.

“The Committee has been working diligently to provide programs that meet the needs of our members and make available resources they can use to assist their small business clients. The engagement of our members and the attendance at our meetings and programs demonstrate that we are consistently meeting this goal,” said Ms. Jaffari. “I’m gratified that our efforts are being recognized by the Business Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association.”
