Steven W. Suflas, a noted labor and employment lawyer and the Managing Partner of Ballard Spahr’s New Jersey office, has been appointed to a second two-year term as a Trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA).

As a trustee, Mr. Suflas will provide managerial guidance to the association. The NJSBA promotes equal access to justice for New Jersey residents, provides educational opportunities to lawyers, educates the public about the legal system, and sometimes acts as amicus curiae in pending cases before state and federal courts. The NJSBA also works closely with lawmakers on legislation that affects the practice of law in the Garden State.

“The NJSBA is the voice for attorneys in New Jersey and plays a critical role in how the law in our state develops and how the legal needs of the citizens of our state are best served,” Mr. Suflas said. “It is a privilege to have the opportunity to continue to serve in this leadership position.”

Mr. Suflas is a member of the National Advisory Board of the National Employment Law Institute and the Advisory Committee on Professional Ethics for the New Jersey Supreme Court. He is a past Chair of the NJSBA’s Labor & Employment Law Section.

At Ballard Spahr, he represents management in all phases of labor and employment matters, including collective bargaining and traditional labor law issues, employment litigation, ERISA, and wage and hour law. Mr. Suflas is also a member of the firm’s Elected Board.
