John B. Kearney, a partner in the Litigation Department of Ballard Spahr, has been named a Trustee of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey.

The Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey is a group of attorneys who practice before the federal courts of the District of New Jersey. It serves as a resource for the court and provides opportunities for federal practitioners to interface with federal judges and the court on issues of mutual interest. The trustees meet approximately once a month.

The New Jersey Chapter of the Association provides opportunities for scholarship and education to the profession. It is also a forum for judges and attorneys to interact professionally and socially.

“I am honored to be named a Trustee of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey,” Mr. Kearney said. “The New Jersey Chapter is part of a national association, which is recognized as the premier bar association serving the federal practitioner and judiciary.”

Mr. Kearney is a member of Ballard Spahr’s Complex Commercial Litigation and Consumer Class Action Litigation Groups. He has written and co-authored numerous articles in newsletters and journals and is a frequent lecturer on products liability law, mediation and alternate dispute resolution, and the uses of social media in litigation.
