Noted bankruptcy attorney and Ballard Spahr partner David L. Pollack will become Chair of the Program Committee for the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) 2011 U.S. Law Conference. The appointment begins tomorrow.

The Program Committee Chair is responsible for overseeing the agenda for the comprehensive, four-day conference, which will feature more than 70 programs, 100 breakfast roundtables, and 150 speakers and is attended by legal professionals in the real estate industry nationwide. The conference, in its 40th year, is one of the largest and most respected in the industry.

"Setting the agenda for this conference will mean taking a hard look at trends in the market, the current economic landscape, and what lies on the horizon for the industry," said Mr. Pollack, who chairs Ballard Spahr's Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Capital Recovery practice. "It's an exciting position and I look forward to working with my colleagues on the committee."

Mr. Pollack's practice focuses on matters related to shopping centers, with an emphasis on the representation of landlords and tenants in retail bankruptcy matters and in commercial leasing. Ballard Spahr's national Real Estate Department handles matters involving real estate construction, development, finance, tax, and transactional issues. The firm's Distressed Real Estate Initiative helps clients buy, sell, and invest in distressed assets.
