Wendi L. Kotzen, the partner in charge of Ballard Spahr's Real Estate Tax practice, has been elected to the American College of Tax Counsel. ACTC members are chosen by their peers in recognition of their excellence in tax practice and for their substantial contribution and commitment to the legal profession.

Ms. Kotzen advises clients on tax issues in connection with real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, labor issues, and litigation matters, and she works regularly with REITs and real estate partnerships. She was appointed by Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter to the Mayor's Task Force on Tax Policy & Economic Competitiveness.

Ms. Kotzen joins current Ballard Spahr ACTC members Frederic L. Ballard, Jr., who chairs the firm's tax practice and is nationally known for his work with municipal bond issues, and Wayne R. Strasbaugh, who is Vice Chair of the tax practice and widely respected for his work with mergers and acquisitions.
