Lynn E. Rzonca, a noted intellectual property attorney and managing partner of Ballard Spahr's Philadelphia office, was selected for membership on the International Trademark Association's Panel of Neutrals.

The Panel of Neutrals is an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program that resolves trademark and unfair-competition disputes without litigation. Ms. Rzonca was chosen from a large group of applicants. Neutrals must have substantive legal knowledge and training in mediation and must make a commitment to continued expansion of their skills and experience.

"I am a firm believer in the value of alternative dispute resolution, especially for trademark disputes. It is a true privilege to be part of the board," Ms. Rzonca said. "The group performs a vital function and one that I very much look forward to being a part of."

Ms. Rzonca has litigated a wide range of intellectual property issues, including patent, trademark, trade secret, false advertising, and copyright. She has also prosecuted many trademark applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and handled cases before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Last year, Ms. Rzonca was named one of Pennsylvania's "Best 50 Women in Business" by Governor Edward G. Rendell. Ms. Rzonca has received numerous honors for her mentoring work, her community service, and her leadership within the legal profession.
