Amy M. McClain, an associate in the Baltimore office of the law firm Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, has been elected to the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association's Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law.  The forum, with over 6,000 members, is the key national provider of news, information, and professional development opportunities for attorneys in the practice area.

Ms. McClain is a member of Ballard Spahr's Real Estate Department, where she focuses on real estate and real estate finance.  She represents public housing authorities and affordable housing developers in mixed-finance transactions. She has closed numerous affordable housing transactions involving a variety of funding sources, including Low Income Housing Tax Credits, HOPE VI, tax-exempt bonds, state housing finance agency loan funds, and conventional financing. Ms. McClain is a frequent speaker on affordable housing and HUD-related topics, with an increasing emphasis on financing energy-efficient improvements and sustainable development within affordable housing projects. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Southeast Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting healthy, dynamic, and diverse communities in Southeast Baltimore.
