Lynn R. Axelroth, a partner in the Real Estate Department at Ballard Spahr Andrews and Ingersoll, LLP, will be honored by Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Philadelphia for her significant impact on the commercial real estate industry over the past 25 years during CREW Philadelphia's 25th Anniversary celebration at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts today.

Lynn served as the first chair of the Ballard Real Estate Department's Construction Law Practice Group, was the first female managing partner of Ballard Spahr's Philadelphia office, and is one of the few women to have held a leadership position in an Am Law 100 law firm. She is one of five women who will be honored this year. CREW Philadelphia was established in 1984 to promote professional opportunities for women in the commercial real estate industry. It is a founding chapter of the national CREW network.

Among other major projects, Axelroth had lead roles in the development of The Philadelphia Phillies' new ballpark, The Philadelphia Orchestra's move to Verizon Hall, and the University of Pennsylvania's acquisition of the U.S. Postal Service's property around 30th Street.

"This is a wonderful honor. CREW is a terrific organization that has contributed a great deal to the region's commercial real estate practice," Ms. Axelroth said. "It is a privilege to be part of a profession that is linked so closely with the region's success. I cannot imagine a better job."

"Lynn is among the most gifted real estate lawyers in our community," said Michael Sklaroff, who chairs and manages the Real Estate Department at Ballard Spahr. "She enjoys a national reputation for her exemplary work in construction law."

Ms. Axelroth is a 1999 recipient of the Philadelphia Business Journal's Women of Distinction Award, has been honored as one of the Top 50 Women in Business in Pennsylvania, and received the Chapel of Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Award for Outstanding Community Service. She is listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business as a leading lawyer and Who's Who of Lawyers in the fields of real estate and construction, among other recognition.
