A Weld County District Court Judge denied Weld District Attorney Michael Rourke's motion to seal the autopsy reports in the Watts triple murder case.

A group of media outlets submitted a motion to block the potential sealing of the reports, saying that Mr. Rourke has no right to ask for the records to be sealed because autopsy reports are public records.

Ballard Spahr attorney Steven Zansberg represented The Colorado Tribune and its Colorado media partners and argued in the motion that the Weld County Coroner's Office is the custodian of the autopsy reports, not the District Attorney's Office.
