A lawsuit filed by the MUHSD Governing Board is attempting to prevent a vote on the consolidation of the Cottonwood-Oak Creek, Mingus Union High, and Clarkdale-Jerome school districts.

The lawsuit claims that the consolidation vote is illegal and that allowing a consolidation vote after only one school district votes in favor violates the Arizona constitution.

The MUHSD board is represented by Ballard Spahr attorney, Joseph Kanefield.
