Members of the financial services industry and consumer groups are seeking clarity about acting Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Director Mick Mulvaney's plans for the agency when he testifies before Congress this week.

The hearings are expected to be highly contentious, as they were when Mulvaney's predecessor last appeared before Congress. "I have no doubt that Democrats in the House and Senate, particularly Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), will rake him over the coals," said Alan S. Kaplinsky Co-Practice Leader of Ballard Spahr's Consumer Financial Services Group.
