Ballard Spahr LLP partner Marjorie Peerce is one of a group of leading attorneys that has created the American Immigration Representation Project (AIRP) to provide legal assistance to immigrant detainees in the face of new policies enacted by the administration of President Donald Trump.

AIRP said Monday that hundreds of thousands of immigrants face a threat of removal. The group has reached out to prominent lawyers nationwide seeking funds and pro bono legal assistance.

“Those targeted include more than those with criminal convictions,” Peerce said in a news release. “The group includes children. It includes people accused of minor crimes. It even includes people immigration officials suspect simply might pose a danger. All of them have a right to representation and we’re going to do everything we can to help them get it.”
