There was a time when people wondered whether Stephen R. Reed would be Harrisburg's "Mayor for Life."

Starting Monday, a Dauphin County jury will be asked to decide whether he is a thief.

Seven years after leaving office, Reed will go on trial on 112 charges filed by the state attorney general's office, which claims he stole Wild West artifacts and other memorabilia that was bought by the city.

Henry E. Hockeimer Jr. and Terence M. Grugan represent Mr. Reed.
