A Newmark Grubb Knight Frank unit agreed Tuesday to drop a lawsuit in Pennsylvania state court seeking $1.6 million from a National Financial Realty Inc. affiliate over allegations that the company went back on a promise to pay a commission after renting Philadelphia office space to the American Bible Society.
Newmark claimed that NFR should pay it for its services under a listing agreement. However, the contract’s February 2014 expiration date arrived before the nonprofit tenant signed its 25-year lease on the 134,679-square-foot space.
Attorneys for the parties declined to comment Tuesday except to say that the settlement is confidential.
NFR is represented by David H. Pittinsky of Ballard Spahr LLP.
