Among the four areas of retail that lawyers will be watching in 2016 is how other retailers may be considering replicating the Apple store model, as they try to strike the optimum balance between online offerings and enabling customers to visit a brick-and-mortar store.

"The Apple model with single-company product lines and uncluttered stores may not work for conventional retailers,” said Michael Pollack of Ballard Spahr LLP. "Even Apple is considering bringing other companies' products into their stores."
